Strengthening Sickle Cell Care: Training for Nurses

As part of its commitment to improving community health outcomes, Noella Foundation organized a 1-day Sickle Cell Training for Nurses, focused on strengthening frontline capacity for sickle cell care and patient support.

The training provided 50 nurses with structured learning to reinforce key clinical considerations, improve awareness, cultural sensitivity and support better decision-making in sickle cell management, especially in moments where empathy and proper care are critical.

Delivered in partnership with Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative (SAMI), the session featured expert-led discussions from Dr. Toyin Ibironke G Aniagwu and Mrs. Oluwakemi Oguntimehin, who shared practical insights on patient care, genetic counselling, and advocacy.

This initiative reflects Noella Foundation’s continued investment in health systems support, building knowledge, strengthening care delivery, and promoting better outcomes for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease.
